Armeria pseudarmeria 'Ballerina Lilac' / Seathrift / Seeds

A lovely red variety of Sea Thrift, with cushion shaped grassy foliage and long strong stems, topped with globe shaped flowers in lilac in spring from May to June.   Plants grow to a height of 20-25cm.  They look good in rock and gravel gardens, in pots and in borders.

Sea Thrift grows best in sun and well-drained soil. Plants tolerate dry, windy and conditions and are salt tolerant.

Pack of 30 seeds.  Sow in spring to autumn.  Early spring sowings flower in the first year.  Easy to grow.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Sow

Sow in spring to autumn. Sow in moist well drained seed compost and do not cover.  Keep at 16-18C and germination takes 1-2 weeks.  Transplant seedlings into pots when they are big enough to handle and out into the garden when frost free.  Early spring sowings often flower in the first year.  Keep summer and autumn sowings in a greenhouse or cold frame over winter before planting out in spring.

Grow

These are evergreen plants and need little care once established.  Deadhead to prolong flowers and remove older leaves as necessary.
