Dorotheanthus (formerly Mesembryanthemum) is a low spreading plant with succulent leaves and a mass of brightly coloured daisy-like flowers from June to August. Flowers open in the sun during the day, and they look good in borders, as ground cover, in rockeries, dry banks and containers. They trail nicely over walls. Flowers are long-lasting on the plant and make good dried flowers.
Livingstone Daisies are good water-wise plants, tolerating drought and dry soils once settled in. They grow best in the sun and well-drained soil.
