Ixias are attractive and graceful flowering bulbs from the Cape Floral Kingdom in South Africa. Ixia ‘Hogarth’ has beautiful cream star-like flowers with a black centre, with nice strong stems and lots of flowers in June and July. Plants grow to a height of 40-50cm and look great in pots or a border. The strong stems make this a good cut flower.
Ixia ‘Hogarth’ prefers a sunny sheltered spot and well drained soil. Do not plant in the shade as the plants will become spindly. This is a just-hardy bulb, but can be left in the soil if covered with straw or leaves in the winter.
Pack of 15 bulbs. Plant in autumn or spring. These are good-sized nursery-raised bulbs which flower in the first season.
Available now for autumn 2017 planting.
