Lupin ‘Tutti Frutti’ / Lupinus polyphyllus / Seeds

A newer variety of garden Lupin with lovely strong flower stalks in an attractive mix of colours.  Plants flower from June/July into midsummer and grow to a height of about 1m. These are an excellent choice for summer borders and cut flowers.  

Lupin ‘Tutti Frutti’ prefers sun to part shade and light, moderately fertile neutral to slightly acidic soil.  


Pack of 25 seeds.  Sow in January to 1st year flowers starting in July or sow in spring to autumn for next year flowering from June.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Conditions  Sun to part shade and light moderately fertile neutral to slightly acidic soil
Sow Sow in January for 1st year flowers from July or sow in spring and summer for next year flowerings from June.  Sow the seeds on the surface of a tray or small pots of compost.  Cover with 3mm of compost, keep at 15-20°C and germination takes 2-3 weeks.  Pot on seedlings to pots when they are big enough to handle and then out into the garden when frost-free.  Overwinter summer seedlings in a cold frame or greenhouse before planting out in the spring.  
Grow Protect young plants from slugs.  Remove faded flower stalks to encourage more flowers.  Remove dead plant material in the winter.  Plants start growing again in the spring.
