Jalapeno M is very popular hot and pungent chilli pepper, widely used in Mexican cooking. Plants are compact and sturdy and produce a heavy continuous crop of bullet shaped fruits, ripening first to dark green and then to red. They can be picked and eaten at the green or red stage. The fruits are about 9cm x 4m in size with thick fleshy walls. The "M” in the name indicates a milder average-heat chilli with a Scoville rating of 5,000.
Jalapeno peppers grow and ripen best in long hot summers or in a greenhouse. Each plant grows to a height of about 60-70cm and will start to produce fruits 70-75 days from germination.
