A crowd-pleasing shrub producing lovely large scented lilac/pink Sweet Pea-like flowers in spring. This shrub has grey-green leaves and grows to a sturdy height of 2-3m. Early growth can be cut back to create a rounded shrub or the plant can be trained into the shape of a small tree, well suited to a small garden.
The Sweet Pea Bush likes a sunny spot in well drained composted acidic soil. It does not do well in alkaline soils. Keep well watered, as it grows naturally in damp spots in the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa. Grow in warm gardens and protect against frosts greater than -7°C with mulch around the roots. Good for Mediterranean gardens.
Pack of 15 seeds. Sow in spring to autumn. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
