An attractive variety of Sea Thrift rose-pink pompom flowers from May to July/August.   Plants form a neat mound of grass-like leaves, and grow to a height of 20- 30cm. They look good in rock and gravel gardens, in pots and as edging.

Sea Thrift grows best in sun to part shade and in poor, well drained gritty soil.  Plants tolerate dry, windy and coastal situations.

Pack of approx 50 seeds.
Sow in spring to autumn.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Sow

Sow in spring to autumn.  Soak seeds for 2 days in hand-hot water, changing the water every 12 hours.  Then sow in moist well drained seed compost and just cover with a layer of compost or vermiculite.  Keep at 18-20°C and germination takes 2-3 weeks.  Pot up when seedlings are big enough to handle and grow on. Plant out in the garden after the last frost.  Plants prefer sun or part shade and poor well-drained gritty soil.  Deadhead to prolong flowering.

Grow

These are evergreen plants and little care once established.  Remove ragged leaves and spent flowers when the plant looks untidy.  Mature plants can be divided in spring or autumn.
