Euphorbia marginata ‘Kilimanjaro’ / Snow-on-the-Mountain / Seeds

A heritage variety of Euphorbia that makes a wonderful garden plant.  It has pure white brachts in July and August that contrast well with the green leaves. Plants grow to height of 60-90cm and are very showy when in flower.  These are good garden plants, and the leaves work well in flower arrangements.

Euphorbia ‘Kilimanjaro’ is taller and flowers earlier than other varieties.
It grows best in full sun and well-drained soil.  The leaves and stems contain a milky sap that can irritate the skin.

Pack of 30 seeds.  Sow in spring, earlier in a greenhouse, and later directly in the soil.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Hardiness Half hardy annual
Flowers July and August
Height 60 - 90cm
Spread 20 - 25cm
Conditions  Full sun and well drained soils
Sow

Sow in early spring on the surface of trays of moist seed compost.  Cover lightly with compost and keep at 20-25°C.  Germination takes 2-4 weeks. Pot on when seedlings are big enough to handle and plant out after the last frost.  Or sow in late spring directly in the soil and keep moist until germination.  Pinch out the growing tip of young plants to create a bushier habit.

Grow Plants grow in the spring and summer and then die down in winter, when they can be removed.
