Nasturtium 'Canary Yellow' or 'Ladybird' / Tropaeolum majus / Seeds

A single colour selection with big yellow flowers, flecked with red, held high above the leaves from June to October.  Plants grow to about 20-25cm in height and are good in borders, containers and as ground cover.  They flower for a long period over the summer into late autumn.  The flowers are edible.

Nasturtiums prefer a sunny spot and drier poor soil.

Pack of 20 seeds.  Sow directly in the ground or containers in spring or start earlier indoors.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.  Easy to grow.

Hardiness Hardy annual (RHS Hardiness H3)
Flowers June to the first frost
Height 20 - 25cm
Spread 50 - 90cm
Conditions  Sun to part shade and moist well-drained soils
Sow Sow outdoors directly in the ground in spring.  Prepare and rake the ground and sow 20mm deep.  Or sow indoors in early spring in a tray of moist seed compost.  Sow about 1cm deep and keep at 15-20°C and germination takes 7-10 days. Pot up and grow on until ready to plant out into the garden in a sunny spot after hardening off.
Grow Deadhead plants to prolong flowering.  Plants die down after flowering in the autumn when they should be removed.  They will self-seed , but not overwhelmingly, and you should have these plants, flowering in a wider range of flowers, for years from one initial packet of seed.
