Alyssum montanum 'Mountain Gold' / Hardy evergreen / Seeds

A great compact plant, with grey-green leaves and long flowering intense yellow flowers from March to July.  Alyssum grows 10-15cm in height and spreads out or trails up to 50cm.  It is great for an alpine or rockery garden, for ground cover, front of borders and mixed containers.  It will trail nicely.

Alyssum likes full sun and well-drained poorer soil.

Pack of approx 200 seeds.  Sow in spring into late summer.  These are easy to grow and look after.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Flowers March to June
Height 10 - 15cm
Spread 30 - 50cm
Conditions  Plant out in full sun and well-drained poorer soil.

Sow in spring into late summer in moist seed compost and keep at around 18-20C.  Seeds germinate in 1-3 weeks.  Transplant seedlings into pots and grow on at around 12-15C.  Keep late summer sowings in a cold frame or greenhouse over winter.  Plant out when frost free.

These are evergreen plants and need minimal maintenance.  Lightly cut back plants after flowering to keep a good shape.  Plants are drought tolerant once established.  Softwood cuttings can be taken in early summer.
