Ammi majus Queen of Africa / Bishop's Finger / Seeds

Ammi ‘Queen of Africa’ is a great border plant and cut flower. Plants grow on sturdy stems to a height of 1.2-1.5m and have big white flowerheads from June to August.  These are great plants for the back of the border.

Ammi majus grows best in sun to part shade and well-drained soil.

Pack of approx 500 seeds.  Sow directly into prepared ground in late spring (generally April to June) or early autumn.  Or seeds can be sown in modules in early spring for planting out in early summer. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Height 1.2 - 1.5m
Spread 20 - 50cm
Conditions  Plant out in sun to part shade and well-drained soil.
Sow

Sow directly into prepared ground in September/October or April to June.  Rake over lightly and keep moist until seedlings are established.   Germination takes 7-21 days.  Or sow indoors in early spring in modules to a depth of about 2mm.  Keep at 15-18°C and germination takes 7-14 days. Transplant seedlings into pots when they are big enough to handle, being careful to avoid root disturbance, and into the garden in early summer.
