A great variety of Astrantia, with bright rose-red brachts from June to September. The flowers have a shimmering metallic quality and make good cut and dried flowers. Plants grown from seed have an attractive range of flower colours from pink to rose-red. These are good border plants, with strong upright stems, growing to a height of 60-80cm.
Astrantia ‘Rose Symphony’ grows best in dappled shade and moist humus-rich soil. It will tolerate full sun if the soil is not too dry.
Pack of 20 seeds. Sow anytime, typically in autumn in a cold frame, or inside including 4-6 weeks in a fridge. Experience of germinating hardy perennials is useful. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
