Rock Purslane is a great plant for hot summer borders and containers. The ‘Ruby Tuesday’ variety is a particularly good garden plant, with clusters of intense red/violet flowers from June to September. They grow to a height of 10-20cm and are ideal for front of borders, edging and gravel and coastal gardens.
Rock Purslane grows best in full sun and well drained soil. The plants are drought tolerant once established and grow well in pots as well as sunny borders. They are natural evergreen perennial plants that live many years in warmer UK and Mediterranean gardens. They are often grown as annuals in the UK as they flower in the first year when grown from seed.
Pack of approx 500 seeds. Sow spring to autumn. Sow March to May if growing as an annual for same year flowers, otherwise you can continue sowing into early autumn, and keep the seedlings in a greenhouse for planting out the following spring. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
