German Chamomile is mostly grown as a tasty herbal tea and medicinal plant. Plants have a bushy structure of feathery leaves and grow to a height of 40-60cm. There are lots of small white highly scented daisy-like flowers in summer, from June to August. The flowers can be picked, dried and used as a herbal tea, with an appealing sweet flavour. These plants are the most popular choice for making Chamomile tea. German Chamomile is the source of the Chamomile Blue essential oil.
German Chamomile grows best in a sunny to part shaded position in well drained sandy soil.
