Clarkia speciosa 'Pink Buttercups' / Seeds

A very showy hardy annual with pink buttercup flowers with red eyes. Plants grow to a height of 40-50cm and flower over a long period, from June to September.   Good for both borders and bedding and for hanging baskets.


Clarkia ‘Pink Buttercups’ grows best in sun and well-drained soil. 

 

Pack of approx 200 seeds.  Sow in spring either indoors or directly into cultivated soil.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Sow

Sow in spring. Sow indoors 3-4mm deep in trays of moist seed compost.  Keep at around 20°C and germination takes 1-2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into pots when they are big enough to handle and out into the garden after the last frost. Or sow outdoors in late spring, directly into cultivated soil, in a sunny well-drained position.

Grow

Water regularly until young plants are established.  Deadhead plants to prolong flowering.  Remove plants after they have finished flowering and sow more seed the following year.
