Hardiness Hardy perennial (RHS Hardiness H7)
Flowers June to September
Height 60cm
Spread 30 - 50cm
Conditions  Full sun to part shade and moist well-drained soil
Sow

Sow anytime on the surface of a moist tray of seed compost.  Keep at 18-20°C and germination takes 3 - 4 weeks.  Transplant seedlings into pots when big enough to handle, and out into the garden after the last frost.  Seedlings sown in summer/autumn should be protected in the first winter in a greenhouse or cold frame, before planting out in spring.

Grow Early sowings often flower in the first year.  Once flowering has started, deadhead the spent flowers to encourage flowering into late summer.  Plants are normally evergreen, but may die back in colder conditions and start growing again in spring.   Divide mature plants every three years in autumn or early spring to keep plants vigorous.
