Limonium sinuatum Bonduelli / Statice or Sea Lavender / Seeds

Limonium Bonduelli has attractive clouds of tiny yellow to dark yellow flowers in mid to late summer, typically July to September.  The flowers sit on sturdy stalks 60cm high.  They make good border and container plants, and long-lived cut and dried flowers.

Limonium grows best in sun and well-drained soil.

Pack of approx 100 seeds.  Sow the seeds indoors in spring for flowering the same year.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Hardiness Hardy to half hardy annual (RHS Hardiness H4)
Flowers July to September
Height 60 - 80cm
Spread 20 - 25cm
Conditions  Sun and well drained soils
Sow Sow in spring into a tray of moist compost.  Cover very lightly with compost or vermiculite and keep at 18-24°C. Seeds germinate in 1-2 weeks. Transplant seedlings to pots when they are big enough to handle and then out into the garden after the last frost.  Seeds can be sown directly into cultivated soil in late spring.
Grow Plant out in well drained soils.  Plants produce one set of long-lived flower stalks, so no need to deadhead these plants. For dried flowers, cut when the flowers are dry and in full colour, hang upside down in dry well ventilated room until flowers have dried out completely.  In the garden, remove plants after flowering in the autumn.
