Hardiness Hardy short-lived perennial
Flowers June to August
Height 60 - 70cm
Spread 30 - 45cm
Conditions  Sun to part shade and rich, moist and well-drained soil
Sow Sow in a tray of seed compost. Leave uncovered, or cover lightly with vermiculite, as light is needed for germination.  Keep at 16-18°C and germination takes 2-4 weeks.  Transplant to pots when seedlings are big enough to handle and out into the garden after the last frost in a sunny position.   Flowering generally starts in the second season.
Grow Water plants during dry spells.  Clear up dead plant material in autumn/winter.  Plants start growing again in spring.  Divide plants every 2-3 years in spring.
