Asperula orientalis 'Blue Surprise' / Blue Woodruff / Seeds

Blue Woodruff are easy-to-grow attractive plants with clusters of scented blue flowers in spring to mid summer.  Plants grow to a height of about 20cm and are great filler plants for front of borders, edging and herb gardens.  The scented flowers attract pollinators into the garden.

Blue Woodruff grows best in part shade, but will grow in sun to full shade.  It prefers moist well drained soil.

Pack of approx 500 seeds.  Sow in spring or autumn directly into cultivated soil or final containers. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Hardiness Hardy annual
Flowers May to July, sometimes into late summer
Height 15 - 20cm
Spread 15 - 20cm
Conditions  Sun to full shade and moist well-drained soil

Sow in spring or autumn.  Seeds germinate best when sown directly into cultivated soil.  Sow in drifts or patterns, rake over the seeds and keep moist until seedlings are well established.  Seeds germinate in 2-3 weeks but can take longer depending on the conditions.

Plants grow in spring, flower in summer and die back in the autumn, when they should be removed.  Plants self-seed in the right conditions.
