Height 60cm

Sow Sow in autumn/winter in a tray of moist seed compost and keep in a cold frame over winter to break dormancy. Seeds germinate in the spring.  Or sow in spring or autumn in a seed tray and cover lightly.  Chill the tray in a fridge (5°C) for 3 weeks to break dormancy.  Then keep at 15 - 20°C (no higher than 25°C) and germination takes 2 to 3 weeks.  Or skip the chilling, and germination takes 1-3 months.  Do not exclude light, which helps germination.  Transplant seedlings into pots when they are large enough to handle and plant out into the garden after the last frost.  Overwinter summer sown seedlings into a coldframe or greenhouse before planting out the following spring.
Grow Plants start flowering in the second season.  After flowering, cut back the flower stems to ground level.  The plants are deciduous and any dead material can be removed in winter.  Mature plants can be divided in spring.
